In Western culture, we give our Leaders an often insurmountable task … couple this with the fact that, in many organizations, we cheer them on while they are seeking a leadership role and then, the minute they achieve it, we begin a process of systematically taking them apart.

What this means for the Leader is that she/he must be exceptionally focused on leading and, because settings in which leadership occurs (meetings, presentations, etc.) have two components: Objectives and Feelings, the Leader's energies are automatically split.

This split can be resolved with Facilitation:

• With a facilitated setting, the Leader can concentrate on the objectives and
• The Facilitator can concentrate on the feelings

This ensures full coverage and, in most scenarios, satisfaction for all concerned as everyone feels "heard."
